v-10 transmission bolt to diesel?

i found a 2000 v-10 truck 4x4 with 40,000 miles clean for 1,000 bucks. can i yank the motor and stick a diesel in and bolt it to the tranny? motor mounts are no big deal, i can just cut them off a frame i alredy have and weld them up. i have radiator and other parts for a dodge also. but will the tranny bolt up to a diesel or is the bell housing different?

Think it thru though. You will need harness etc for the trans to work. It will need rpm signal? I'd have to think about it, and right now that hurts.
