transmission fluid change questions

I am still trying to get the fluid changed in my tranny. Someone posted a link with this info:

These are the ONLY lubricants recommended for the NV4500:
75W-90 Castrol Syntorque Synthetic
Mopar Manual Transmission Lubricant (PN 4637579)
GM Transmission oil (PN 12346191)
NOTE: Syntorque is NOT the same as Castrol Syntech.

I have not been able to find any of these locally. The dodge dealer has the mopar but it is $28 a pint and I don't feel like spending $224 on transmission fluid. Seems like I remember reading a post a while back that regular 75-90 synthetic will work. I found some Mobile 1 75-90 synthetic - will this be ok? I don't want to mess up my tranny but I don't want to spend a fortune on fluid.

A friend of mine at the http://www.nwbombers.com just changed lube in his 6 speed from amsoil to 4 quarts of RedLine Manual Transmission Lube and said it made a noticable difference in shift smoothness. ;D

Re:transmission fluid change questions

The 5 speed and 6 speed use different fluid specs. Yes, the 5 speed Castrol Syntorq is a synthetic lube, 75W-90. I have Amsoil Series 2000 75W-90 in mine, and it was less than $30 for 4 quarts. It is GL-5 spec, and is designed to be compatible with yellow metals.
