Unhappy Tps ?

Hey Guys
What does the TPS do and where is it located at? How can you tell it is going bad ? Can you fix it yourself ? I had the computer go out in the truck and it was replaced now they say the tps might be going too. buckskin4570

TPS is Throttle Position Sensor.

It measures how far open the throttle valve is - how much you are pushing the "gas" peddle. On the 12 valve engine it is located at the end of the throttle cable mounted in front of the injection pump on the drivers side of the engine.

Do a search on this site for TPS and you will get tons of info. How to clean it, how to make it adjustable and what the stock voltages should be.
