Tires are wearing, please help

My original Michelin 265/85/16 tires have 56,000 miles on them. About 20,000 miles ago I noticed I was getting uneven wear on the outside edges of the tires. I had been maintaining the 45lbs air pressure that they came with and was written on the door.

I then looked closer and saw that the air pressure listed on the door was for 225's. Then I checked the tires themselves and saw I should be running 80psi. For the last 20,000 miles I have been running 80psi but the wear continues, now it is wearing on both the inside and outside edge of the tire.

What is my problem?

How can I fix it when I get new tires?

Thanks

Smoke the tires enough to burn them flat and then get an alignment. That's what I do.

The wear you decribe is quite often cured with tire balance beads. Read the thread over in products> https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...666#post463666

Wear like that is also somewhat common with a solid axle 4x4 too. Maybe your door sticker is different but on most CTD trucks I see 50 front 70 rear. I run 50 in mine unless towing the race rig then I bump them up to 70. I also have a little outer edge tire wear, and my old 95 ram did too. I never checked the 95, but I do know the 01 is pretty close. To get the alignment "nut on" on a 2500 4x4 is going to costs some $$$.
