guess it could possibly be the later years of 2nd Gen's that have worst problems....i know that just about every used 00-02 you see has big cracks & sometimes chunks missing....it's just aggrevating to take care of something & still have it fall apart....

i saw LMC truck makes a dash pad now that is already factory color and is a bolt on design instead of just a stick on....anybody tried these?

you are as wrong as the day is long.....i have NEVER put anything on my dash and i have a lot of cracks....it's pretty obvious dodge used a inferior product when you compare the dashes with other vehicles, like i have a '98 merc gran marquis and it has never been garaged....the dash is like new

so dodge dashes are prone to failure if exposed to sun and heat, which is present in my area

There was a write up on this awhile back. They found the manufacturer of some units that were from Mexico, had the wrong formula in the plastics. They don't even need heast and sun to fall apart. I can't believe the feds didn't make them recall them. Well, I can believe our idiots did that!

My year 2000 drops a small piece, "somewhere", daily. I think I am going to order a replacement dash, not cover, from LMC

My 95 dash was all to pieces, I glued the jigsaw puzzle back together with fiberglass mat and ABS glue, then covered it with a Dashmat. Been good to go for 2 years now. I have a customer with a 97 3500 that has never been taken care of, always sits in the sun and the dash has zero cracks

It might help to loosen the bolts on the front of the dash right below the windshield. Relieve some of the stress on the dash from normal cab movement while driving.

my dash is still like new ( i use turtle wax ice. cant say if thats the reason but it sure is a great product) i think it was a supplier problem cause their not all cracked. btw inlaws have a 01 pt cruiser thats always garaged ands its dash is busted up.

geno's garage has new dash's and stock style overlays. check'em out

Kinda funny, I didn't know this was an issue as mine WAS fine. Looked in my buddies truck one day and saw his completely trashed. I laughed at him and said he just got lucky, a few months laTER, mine started cracking.

Ruggin' it up in San Diego.

I simulated a cold, overcast climate by rugging up my '98.5 and this '07. The sun's out here 300+ days a year. No cracks on either.(I'm currently knocking on wood)

I got the new Ultimat from Geno's on this one. Big improvement over the "squirrel" model it had on before. Molded with no Frankenstitches.

LMC Truck now has everything you need to replace it. Not COVERS, the actual replacement pieces for the oem stuff. You can find everything in my post on replacing mine.
