Steering stabilizer question
Steering stabilizer question
I have a 95 2wd reg cab. I know the four wheel drives have a steering stabilizer but do the two wheel drives have one also? If they do then I am missing mine, the mounting holes are there but the stabvilzer is gone. Truck has 200,000 miles. Did it fall off or was it not required from the factory. I have owned this trk since new.
Thanks in advance.

Generally the steering stabilizer is a 4 wheel drive only requirement. Not sure why you would have mounting holes for a 2 wheel drive. The whole front end is different on the 2 wheel drives. Maybe someone else knows why there would be holes there? Anyway, it isn't required, but if there are holes there and you would like to put one on. . . have fun!
Its cheaper to make one part that fits many different applications. Years ago the Ford Bronco II had a transfer case even on the two wheel drive units. It was empty and not machined but was hung on the back of the tranny anyway. Your truck probably didnt have a stabilizer,It also wasnt prone to death wobble. If you install one and notice a difference you probably have some worn parts.
