Steering Boxes

I read this on another site. It started as a thread about steering wander in 2nd gen trucks and then about 20pgs later here comes this guy talking about 2 different boxes. I've been researching the steering problems and hadn't heard this before. Just wondering if anyone over here is familiar with it and has any input before I spent a bunch of money on my front end. I'll past his thread:

It seems I have not been clear enough. I should have said when you take the wrong box out and put a wrong box back in the problem is not fixed and you have been led to believe the box was not the problem. The box is the problem if your steering wheel turns 4 & 1/4 lock to lock or stop to stop. Mine did and I got one (rebuilt) that turns only 3 turns from "Chip" at Power Steering Services Springfield Missouri (turn the input shaft before you install it to make sure you got the right one) and I also got the small pistons. These are the GM boxes that Dodge chose to use and obviously do not know they are all the same on the outside but very different on the inside. They put the wrong box on my 98 12v on the assembly line and it was 7 years of misery before I knew there was a difference in these boxes (Saginaw) Now my truck steers like a car. I see on here where everyone does all the standard things attempting to cure the problem like I did and there was only a small difference and it still steered like ****. I changed the box myself (if I can do it at age 77 so can anyone but there is a trick to it) and a block away from home I knew the problem was fixed. While I was at it I put in a Borgesen shaft thinking the old one had slop but when I got it out it did not, so the problem was all in the box. The Borgesen shaft is of much higher quality so I will benefit from it not ever wearing out. REGARDS to all and feel free to e-mail me

sorry for the length.
