Which socket for ball joints?

I'm getting ready to do the joints on the 01.5 4X4 2500. I got the XRF's. What size impacts do I need. I need to borrow them from my dad, and he lives an hour away. I know I need the giant hub one that appears to be a 1 3/4", and the one that does the press. Any ideas on the other sizes? Thanks in advance, Eric

maybe get kit from Harbor freight, that way you have all the sizes you'll ever need

I was thinking of the chinee Hahbo flate, seeing as how I got the ball joint press from there. Just looking to see if anyone has the tolls req'd list handy. It would make it that much easier.

I got the hub/axle assembly out, but how in the heck do the ball joints come out??? Holy crap, I'm thinking of just using an oxy torch to cut them out.

Buy or rent a ball joint press set from an auto parts store. It really isn't that bad.

I wouldn't cut them out. You could damage the knuckle - then you are in trouble.

I got the driver's side done. The upper wasn't too difficult, the lower had to be torched. There was NO other way. I've never seen anything so stuck. I'll wait to do the passenger side till after our camping trip. We're leaving soon, and I don't want to tempt fate.
