How do you remove the Silencer ring on a 1996 ram?

easy... remove the air intake boot (piece that connects the airbox to turbo by loosening the two screws. pull it off and in the turbo there is a large snap ring and the silencer ring is behind it ... take two small screwdrivers or something similar and pry the snap ring out and the silencer ring will basically fall out ... reinstall the intake boot done

you wont notice a difference unless you have an aftermarket intake, IMO it's not worth messing with, leave it in

no performance gain, but I DEFINITELY heard a difference when the truck was bone stock. got some turbo whistle at boost.

do that and get a muffler shop to weld in a straight pipe for like 40 bucks.

most "grins" per buck mods

I removed mine about 2 weeks ago, didn't do anything for the truck, but the whistle is definatly louder.
