Shock
Ford owns Cummings.....
Test them, if the truck rebounds more than once, they're due. Visually inspect them, are they leaking oil? Broken, bent etc...?
If unsure of the mileage since last set and they look pretty roadworn, get new ones...
Bilstein usually wins the shock wars around here...

When I replaced my OEM shocks I chose the KYB Monomax because I've always though KYB was a good product and I also understood that they were basically mirrored products of the Bilsteins. Well after installing them they rode so stiff and rough that I took them off in less than 1000 miles. Literally beat the truck and anyone in it up. I replaced them with Rancho 9000's. I love them. I've had them on my truck for the last 50-60k miles and they work great. Run them fairly loose while unloaded and tighten them up when towing. In defense though.....I have never tried Bilstein and I've heard lots of positive feedback about them too. I'm sure you wont be unhappy with the Bilsteins.
