Rear Tire Shudder on left turns
Rear Tire Shudder on left turns
Is this caused by the limited slip dif. I noticed it making left turns. It feels similar to having the truck in 4x4 and making a sharp turn on the road and the front tire skips a bunch of times. Is this wheel staying locked when it should be releasing or maybe is the power shifted to the inside wheel.
Thanks for any help.
PS: Great site, I'm waiting on my Pyro, Boost and Trans Temp but will be able to install them with the advise from all of you guys. thanks.

Re:Rear Tire Shudder on left turns
This usually occurs right after changing the rear diff fluid, and not adding the posi "juice".
Go to your Dealer, and get a couple of packages of Posi Additive.
Squirt one package in the diff, and find a large parking lot.
Perform 7-8 figure 8s at low speed to force the diff to lock & unlock, then drive it to see if the noise has dissappeared.
If still there, add 1/2 a package, do the 8s and try again.
If you used a synthetic gear lube, try doing the 8s before purchasing/adding any "juice".

Re:Rear Tire Shudder on left turns
Mine did that too. I put one of the bottles of that friction whatever in there and it quit. It still has a little "bump, shift, unlock" sound/feeling on takeoff (just an easy start). It very seldon does it after the initial takeoff though. I just put one bottle of the stuff in there, maybe that was not enough? ???
Re:Rear Tire Shudder on left turns
Yours sounds like it's about right.
Too little makes the diff noisy (clunking on turns)
Too much prevents the locking clutches in the diff from working at all.
