Rear Axle Speedy Sleeve
Anyone have a part number for such a beast? Lost another seal on the passenger side (D80). Theres a groove into the spindle, so I've got a pretty good idea thats the cause. Went to the parts place I always go to, can't find a sleeve for the application. NAPA couldn't find their way out of a paper bag, so its time to find one on the net. If anyone has a part number for one, it would be great.

Check one of the big truck parts houses if you have one locally. Usually, if you have the bill of materials from a Dana axle, they can get you whatever you need. I'm in the same boat...lost 3 seals on the pass side since I got the truck...

Just thought I'd update this, incase someone is looking for this in the future. I found a speedi sleeve from CR (Chicago Rawhide), part number 99300. This is for a 3.000" nominal diameter. The ID is correct, but the width of the sleeve is too large, and would keep the bearing from seating properly. CR has some other speedi sleeves with a 3.000 nom dia., but none were thin enough. I had to take around .300" off the width. Used a dremel to cut it, and used a file to clean it up and deburr it. 15 minutes of work. One more thing, the installation is not deep enough to install it on the spindle. A a 2' piece of 3" ID ABS pipe did the trick, which actually had a better fit on the sleeze than the tool supplied. Use the axle shaft as a slide hammer, and installing it square is virtually assured.
