Puke Bottle Reroute Problem

I rerouted my hose on my puke bottle a few weeks ago & now the problem has started. Let me say that I did not listen to the threads about rerouting and using the shortest possible hose. During our cold spell which lasts all winter the hose froze up and I did not realize it until I started to have white smoke pouring out of the truck. The truck was run hard one day & I checked the oil which was 5 quarts low. My big question is where does the oil go when not to puke bottle? Why would this much oil leak from the truck? I will say that the truck has not burned a drop of oil since I bought it in NOV. Please advise.
