Power Window Regulator

I found out today that I have to replace the window regulator as a whole unit. This thing is pretty pricey through Dodge($250). Any suggestions one where I can get this unit at a more reasonable price? Also, is there a trick to changing this darn thing? It looks like a chore! Thanks for the help.

you could go used but how much longer would that one last?
not that hard to swap out. get the door panel off the roll the window down to gain access tot he bolts that hold the glass. remove bolts. push the glass up and tape it up at the top. roll regulator so that the arms are paralell. unbolt regulator. remove from door and unplug.
reinstall in reverse.

There easy to change ... if you can get the window down so you can reach the two glass mount bolts ...Undo them slide the glass up the track and tape the window up , unhook the wires take out the 4 bolts ...Then pull that sucker out !
I'm about to list a power window and lock set-up on here ...I pulled all this stuff out of a truck with under 100 K .

$250 is way too much. I was pricing out regulators because I left the window down and it rained overnight, wouldn't go up in the mornin. Turned out to be just a jammed up unit, gave the regulator a little assistance while it was out and it worked fine. Anyhow, I got prices from $110-150 from various autopart stores. Try NAPA, or even some of the local guys can get it cheaper than that for sure.

Ready to Tackle

Thanks for all of the help! I ordered the whole new unit online for a $100. After looking at it some more, the replacement doesn't seem that bad. But, we will see how my luck goes .

A power window regulator is the mechanism inside your car door that raises and lowers the glass, usually driven by an electric motor. When it fails, the window can become stuck, move slowly, or drop. Replacing one typically costs $150 to $400 installed, depending on vehicle make and labor. If you're also exploring broader “window replacement” services (for your home or business), check out McDowell Glass window replacement for options.

mcdowell0,
I would hope the guys from '07 having window issues would have gotten it fixed by now almost 20 years later.
