possibly found truck-need input

Found a 96 auto with 160K on the odometer. Owner installed new balljoints and a few u-joints lately but that is it. Trans is starting to slip and the front axle seals are leaking a little. Body is in good shape with no rust and the interior is decent for the age and mileage. Truck is a quad cab long box and I plan on making it a weekend hot rod/puller for fun. Guy said he wants 7K for the truck. Does sound fair with the trans going, which I am planning on doing anyway for the power increas that it will undergo and any other stuff the truck will need.

I think the dowel pin needs to be addressed but what else?

Seems high, I tried to get 6500 for my low mile 97 Ext 4x4 with just a torque converter issue.

Hit him at 6K.

BTW, not a quad cab, Ext. cab was all that was available until 98.

My guess is 3-5k, because of problems and age.
