Overhead diagnostics center question

As I cruised down the highway I checked my fas milage and noted that it was at 19.6MPG. twoseconds later it read 85MPG and went all the way to 99.9MPG and registed 0 miles to empty. What could cause this?

Need more info, what year is your truck, any mods?
If you have a fueling box it will make the numbers way off.

I've seen 75MPG, but that was going down hill at 75 MPH with the engine idling. That was just before I started to apply the brakes.
