outside temp sensor??

Hey,
I have the overhead consol deal w/the temp, mpg, comp., and other stuff. Well the temp readings been all over from 44* F to about 140*F or so (currently 70-100). Is there a sensor or something I need to replace to fix this??? Thanks,

Clean the oxidation - disconnect the sensor, dip the connectors in CLR, then in water\baking soda to nuetralize the acid, blow-dry, dip connectors in Dexron III or other electrical insulative goop, reconnect.

Also check the female pins for snug fit to the male pins before you goop it up.

On my '96, it's on the left front of the radiator support just above the bumper next to the headlight assembly.

Pretty sure it's the same for a '99.

2000 or 2001 they moved to to the hood latch assembly, hood side.
