Angry Only starts when it wants to

I do not know where to start the diagnosis, has good power and starter turns great but sometimes hot or cold it just does not start, turns and turns and turns (always turns) but no go. sometimes i have to turn the key slow, sometimes i have to turn the key fast, sometimes it has to be in stages. The most likely thing i can think of would be a loose connection somewhere, but i do not know where to start. thank you in advance for any comments or suggestions! Happy Holidays All!

Did you check your startup switch? That it's fully engaged when it doesn't want to start...Maybe its shorting out or binding.

ya dave me too. I think that sounds like a possible pull in coil on the fuel solenoid. or the wiring to it.

turn the key on to power. see if the fuel lever moved or how far it moved. push it all the way with your hand if need be. if its shy, it'll click up when the hold in coil grabs it. try starting it. should fire right up. if so. you need a solenoid. or harness repair.

you could measure it out with a meter, but sure soundslike the pull in coil is gone or going out of the fuel solenoid. but the hold in works fine. because it run fine after it starts. have to replace the whole thing either way though.

Most likely the fusible link, relay, or a poor connection. Not very often the solenoid goes bad.

Go to the 12v section, there are numerous posts on how to troubleshoot the solenoid not pulling up.

It is free to remove it, clean the plunger and bore (I use a shotgun brush) and reassemble. If that doesn't fix it the pull up relay may be bad. Way cheaper than a new solenoid. In the unlikely event the solenoid is bad please PM me. I need a plunger and rod assy.

upon further reading it sounds like it could be the little blue wire that connects to the battary so that is the next step before new solenoid! the more i read the more it seems like these solenoids are pretty bullettproof so hopefully that will fix it! if not then consider the old one yours GAmes
