It does if you have young kids! This design keeps them from playing with the power windows with the key in any position but "run" - a lot of kids were lost to strangulation and/or broken necks back in the bad old days when power windows first came out and were "hot" all the time.

I had to undo mine... It was causing my brake and abs lights to stay on. And the fan for the A/C was still blowing after I took the key out... Kinda got me baffled... Gonna have to figure out what's up with that. It was so awesome to be able to roll the windows up and down with the key out, made me smile every time i did it.
And about the kids messing with the windows, I don't believe in leaving kids un attended in vehicles. EVER. I don't care how little time it is. To much other stuff can happen in the world we live in.

 

Hmmmmmm. When I drove the truck later, my lights came on too. I unpluged the jumper and they went off after I removed and replaced the ABS fuse. I wonder if it has something to do with a voltage drop?
If a feller knew whitch wires to use, he could probably tap into and ACC wire and make them work with the key on ACC instead of the start side.

 

Voltage drop sounds like a likely cause.
I think I am going to try and jump them off of the suply from the door locks... Most likely at least. May come up with another idea befoe tomorrow. I'll let you know whatever it ia whenever I do it.

You are cross feeding from the seat to the windows you have to remove the circuit breaker from the windows slot. Run your jumper from the fused side of the seat circuit breaker and plug in to the fused side of the windows slot in the fuse box. Let the seat circuit breaker serve both functions.

 

He's right, I did not have a seat breaker so I put the window breaker in the seat hole and jumped it. If you jump it with the breaker in the window side you are powering the key on accessories too. No need ot look anywhere else for wires, the jumper is the ticket to get it done.
