no brake lights??????

no brake lights??????

so yesterday i pluged in my trailer and drove off noticed no signal out off brake controler .... ok this has happed before.. today been checking everything all fuses good trailer unpluged and i have no brake lights which i assume is why i have no signal to trailer.. i have blinkers hazards lights no stop lights... where do i go next???

Check out your trailer connector ,( no signal out off brake controller) has nothing to do with lights. The brake light wire on your plug needs to be checked with a tester.If your hazard lights work the it must be the brake wire from your truck at the connector. Check at the connector and see if you have power there with brakes on the truck.

You did check the stop light bulbs on the truck ?

Had this happen to me before when using someone elses gooseneck. I switched on the lights inside the trailer and then my lights on my truck and trailer went out. It fried my brake controller as well. Couldn't figure out what happened. After some investigation there are two fuses under the hood for trailer wiring. It had blown out that fuse. I replace it and everything has worked flawless since. Check both and use a volt meter to check, sometimes they appear to be good, but just fried lower in the fuse. The one I replaced looked like the one in the link. I believe it was a 40amp.

ya checked bulbs this mornig and all fuses last night....replaced brake switch and that did it.

I had this problem to. The chinese connector from the brake lights on the truck,to the trailer plug was nfg. Had to replace them and all was well.
