I have seen several things done with them.<br><br>You can take it off and polish it down to the metal...looks like polished stainless when you are done. You can take it to a local shop and have it powdercoated.<br><br>New ones can be purchased from Cummins for just around 100 bucks last I checked.

I painted mine red. But if I had to do it over again, I'd polish it. I used a high temp engine block paint sprayed directly over the factory paint (of course I cleaned the surface and scuffed it up before doing that). It has held up fine for about 10K miles. But then again, 10K miles to you is like a daily thing so yeah.

Have you thought about powder coating? It is a tough coating that holds up to heat well and the application calls for it to be baked on in an oven. There probably are some companies in your area that provide this service. ;D
