Need Used Truck evaluation help!
So, my brother has gotten the diesel bug...
Short version: He's getting into boating and has come to the conclusion that his Dakota will not last, long term, towing a 3500lb boat/trailer. Not to mention the 13-14MPG is killing his wallet. Yes the Dakota is capable, but he would like more truck.
OK...background over!
In the interest of longevity, ease of maintenance, and cab space, he is interested in the early 1998 trucks. Basically 12V, manual trans, dually, QC. We have found 1 around Oklahoma City and another near Tulsa. Given we are in AZ, looking the trucks over in person then passing on them would be a little spendy for airfare. Basically, we are asking if anyone would have the time and be able to look one or both of these trucks over. In particular, we want to avoid the '53' block. I know the '53' was predominant with the 24V motors, but they apparently showed up in some late 12V motors, as well. My Brother would be willing to pay to cover fuel.
If anyone is interested, PM me & we can talk!
Thanks!
Tony
