need help with headlight harness install

I have Summit's headlight harness but can't seem to locate where it plugs into the truck's harness. Is the plug on the driver or passenger side. Everything seems to disappear under the battery trays. Do they need to be removed for access?

Yeh, the plug for the harness is there behind the headlight assembly and is hard to get to because of the battery. I took out the whole assembly to get to it. It's easy once you've done it a few times. One phillips screw for the side indicator, three screws for the assembly, and two little screws for the rubber molding. It'll all come out so you can get to the plug and makes it easier to hook up the other wires for the harness.

I hope you didn't buy a harness to install SPORT headlights instead of regular, I have bad news for you...they are already wired for it.

MY '01 has dual connectors, one for standard headlight, the other for he second bulb if you have a Sport package but it's plugged shut with an end connector.

Hey Valv,
I'm not sure that is for the SPORT headlights. My '01 is wired that way as part of the snow plow prep package. My Curtis is hooked into the connector for the second bulb. It's near the passenger side battery. My plow-light harness runs from that light plug (9004) to the plow electrical connection (with an underdash switch in between). The end connector is removed and the plow light harness is plugged in. The plow also runs 9004s. I wanted to keep the plow lights operational so when I installed the Sports, I wired it myself. I would have had to disconnect my plow lights otherwise. Also I'm not sure that you'll be lighting the correct filament in the 9007 if you plug directly into the extra 9004 plow socket. Remember,
9004 ground = 9007 high beam
9004 low beam = 9007 ground
9004 high beam = 9007 low beam
if you don't change the wires.

regards,
AJG617
