Going on Saturday to look at a 98 24v 2wd dually. 3.55 posi, dana 80, AT, 220K+. Anything I should be on the look out for, besides the "53" block? He wants $5500 for it.

 

what the fluids look like get it up to full temp and see how she feels. look at the blow bye. make sure to ask for maint, records or repairs etc. see what kind of fuel pump is on there. get a scanner or borrow and pull codes see if there is any.

Unless the rear end has been rebuilt, don't count on the "posi" hooking up.

Take a creeper, a magnet and a good flashlight and go over the entire thing front to rear.
