Looking to SWB a LWB Dually

Well guys we got a completely restored 95 12valve single cab dually 2wd and have been kicking around the idea of either just slapping on some 22.5s shaved down to 22s on it, or doing a swb conversion and the 22s, or converting the whole truck to a 3/4 ton and swb it then and running 22s on it. The truck is a killer street truck and is slightly lowered etc but I am not really sure how the truck would look being a single cab swb dually I haven't seen one in 2nd gen body style and I believe the only one I have seen is the bullydog roadster truck. Anyone got any pics or ideas?

Are you talking about doing a shortbox conversion, but keeping it a dually? I've thought about that before, not sure how it would look, but it would definitely be different. A lowered reg cab long box dually on 22's would look killer though. Get some photoshoppers to cut a foot and a half off of the bed to see what it might look like.

Yep I was thinking of shortboxing it but keeping it a dually or just completly converting it to a 3/4 ton and then shortboxing it. Either way the truck is lowered and will have 22's soon.

Anybody good with photoshop?

Not a reg cab. It'd look out of proportion as a shortbed dually. Just put the wheels on it how it is.

If anything, I'd put the cab on a clubcab frame and extend the bed to almost 10', then put 22" wheels on it. Make it look like a HD Cab & Chassis with a bed conversion.

Like an older version of this:

Nah Im looking to swb the truck for traction issues and also who can say they have a standard cab swb dually. Plus finding a swb dually bed to do the conversion isnt that hard to do.

the different club cab frame idea would just be too much work imo swapping the frame is a CHORE itself then if you can find a good body guy to extend the bed and keep it looking straight your going to spend a ton of money IMO plus I really dont like that look just not the way I roll.

Keep in mind that the driveshaft angle would probably be extreme. Especially with big wheels/tires. You'd have to adjust the pinion angle, and probably run some ladder bars to prevent axle wrap.

Ya I will eventually be running shaved 22" alcoas and also with this gearvendor that would definately put the driveshaft at a wierd angle.

Driveshaft angle wouldn't be bad at all, and would get better the lower it got.

It would have to be **** low for the shaft angle not to be off. The shaft is going to be short as hell behind that GV.

The gearvendor isnt as long as one might think its probably 15" long but still enough to change the angle of the driveshaft considerably and the truck is already lowered somewhere around 3" in the rear and 1.5" in the front.

The trans. is out of the truck now due to a shattered 5th gear LOL but as soon as I get it all back together in the next day or two I will be put an angle finder on the driveshaft and see what type of angle were talking about.
