Lights
Lights
Well just darn:
I thought I had it fixed but not so. The headlights are still "flickering" , so to speak. When I leave in the morning, the lights have a slight dim to brite ocillation. Or should I say , dim to dimmer. I had the light switch replaced and thought it was solved. The ole light demon is back. It acts like it does when the grid heater works on a cold morning.

Where would I check to see if the heater is "overactive"? ;D If I remember right there is a fuel heater at the lift pump and air heater in the intake. Is that so? What should I check?

..Preston..
Re:Lights
You should watch the volt guage when this happens, if it happens within the first 2 or 3 minutes that the engine is running it is probably from the intake heater. To make sure it is the intake heater, you should see two large wires about 4 guage bolted to 2 studs on the intake. Disconnect the red wire and wrap it up in tape or something to protect it from making contact with the engine, and start the truck, if your lights dont flicker or your volt guage doesnt drop then you know the draw is from the intake heater.
Re:Lights
Just like Richard said, "For only 2 to 3 minutes?" Then it is normal and working correctly when it is cold with the intake heater grid. This is why we have two batteries... 8)
Re:Lights
Yeah FastSS:
Mine used to. But now after an hour it's still at it. I look like an emergency vehicle going down the road. ;D I'm really not. I just drive that way. :

Re:Lights
Hey Preston,,,,,,,
Are ya sure that it's the lights and not your old eyeballs flickering? Try putting something in your ears to stop the breeze from trying to blow your pilot-light out. ;D
