Lifting 5500# on Dana 70 Differential - OK?

I didn't think and I adjusted one side of my parking brake cable after putting my 2300# camper back on my truck. I then started to think I could have overtightened the parking brake and now I want to jack the truck up to make sure the rear wheels turn without the shoes dragging. I have a floor jack that will lift 7000#. If I put it below the rear differential is that too much strain on the differential. I have two floor jacks but they don't fit well anywhere on the rear axle other than the differential. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Use a hydralic bottle jack under the spring seat.

Lifting

I would just lift one side and then put a support under it. Sounds like you will need to buy 2 stands. I wouldn't lift the Diff.
