Intermittent wiper speeds up?(now intermittent doesn't work at all)

We've been having some off and on showers here, and while driving around today, I noticed that if I put my wipers on the longest delay, they will eventually speed up to shortest delay. It simply speeds up, and I don't touch the control, it's still only turned to the first click from 'OFF'. Anyone else ever have this problem?

And today I lost the intermittent function all together. I have off, low and high speeds, nothing in between. Can't find my repair manual right now, but what all is in the circuit for the wipers, so I can try to trace the problem?

More than likely it's something in the multifunction switch.

If I have mine on any click other than slowest, and the speed right before fastest, and I turn on my blinker, the wipers go into Mach 5 mode, they stay at this speed until I turn them down or up a click, then back to where they were.

You might try spraying some contact cleaner into the switch, then excersising everything.
