I'm Selling

As much as it hurts, I am going to sell old faithful and trading all my trucks in for a new(er) Dodge. What should I go for? I love my 12 but it is at the point where I can still get money for it but it might need some attention in the next year or so. I've clocked 200,000 on it with nothing but tranny problems. What generation should I go for (specific year) I really want a 3500 single wheel but the good old 2500 will do. Thanks for the help.

I'd personally go for an '05. I like that style better. It would have the 325/600 engine in it (plenty of power), and the 3rd gen frame and chassis is the strongest yet.

I sometimes wish I had gone ahead and bought an 03 instead of buying my leftover 02-- the HPCR fuel system is the best ever.

Oh well, my VP has held up OK, and it DOES clatter like a great diesel tends to!

I would get an 05 or an 07 with a 5.9.

I have been looking at 03's and 05's. I just don't want to make the same mistake as I did with my ford. I bought an 03 6.0 F350 that was the biggest pile of junk I have ever owned. I just want a long bed extended cab Dodge 5.9 4x4.

My other question is about the tranny's. How do they hold up in the later trucks? Should I try to find a 6 speed?

I prefer the 03 or early 04 305/555 3rd gens. Pre cat and 3rd injection event, but still have all the nice 3rd gen room and options. I miss my 03 all the time.
