ignition circuit feed

I have a carter electric pump mounted on the frame, bought the truck like that the genius that installed it tapped an accessory circuit ( a blue wire in small harness above master cylinder ) this works but would like to give it it's own circuit on ignition only maybe out of the power dist box, is it viable to use one of the spare spaces and give it an independant fuse? I/e =r

more importantly you should run the LP thru a relay, and use the wire from the "stock" LP to power the relay "on" signal. this allows ECM control Without drawing too many amps from the ECM, and the ECM will shut down the LP in the event of a crash/engine off situation

Reread your post. if its a stock pump, just relocated then extend the factory connector/wiring back to the pump.

I agree, things like that should run through a relay. OK, now I will show my lack of knowledge. If he has a 12v I don't think he has a wire to the stock lift pump, my 12v has a mechanical lift pump.

relay makes sense to run from for shutdown, black impala is correct, the mechanical lp is still in place and the electrical lp pump has been added in line (I am guessing because the mechanical quit). there is a spot marked fuel relay in the power dist box but no wiring to it, and no relay. (this is the last of the 12 valve gen). any ideas on wiring this up through a relay? If I pull the pdc and install a jumper for power to a relay where should I pull the power from? what type of relay to purchase?
