I thought my truck had a 34 but It could be a 33 like ^^^^ said. I think the most I have ever put in was around 31 gals and was praying I didn't run out of fuel getting to the pump.

The '98 manual says that the 138" wheelbase (SWB) quad cab held 34 gals and all other diesels held 35 gals.

My '06 holds 35

Pretty sure it's 35.

Remember, the tanks are long so that first gallon is spread across the bottom 1/4" deep.

you have about 33 gallons to work with.

I think it depends on bed length, my LB is 35ga (per sticker). I think the SB are a few gallons less.

but how many gallons do you guys end up putting in at fillup? For me it always seems like close to just arund 28 gals is what I put into fill the tank; which is leaving right around 50 or less miles on my onboard overhead range meter; when the refill light has already come on for a bit...I've never come close to putting 35 or even 34 or 33 gals in the tank??

Our 02 long bed per the book holds 35 gallons. When the low fuel warning light comes on it will take 27-28 gallons to fill. I don't like to let it get that low.

short box is 34, long box is 35.

I fill up when I hit 1/4 tank and it's about 26-27 gallons.

I ran mine past the guage w/ the low fuel light on and 9 miles showing on the overhead. It took 29.1 gallons to fill after defoaming and topping up the fill neck. It had 5.9 gallons left according to the capacity sited in the manual for a longbed quad- 35 gallons. I figure that as just good insurance for not running out. I personally don't let it get below 1/2 tank at home and under 1/4 on trips.
