I have the Keyless entry and was wondering if i can make the horn "chirp" when I lock the doors? How do I get it to do that?
Thanks

On my 2002 it says how to do it in the owners manuel, not sure if 98 is different
1.Place the key in the ignition and turn the key to the ON position(do not start the engine)
2.Press and hold the unlock button on the transmitter for four to ten seconds.
3.While the unlock button is pressed, press the lock button on the trasmitter and then release both buttons.
4.You will hear a single chime when the programming is completed.
Hope this helps.

I used those procedures to cancel the horn chirp on mine.

After I installed the air horns, I figured the neighbors wouldn't like to hear them blow everytime I locked or unlocked the truck.

Any way to get the lights to blink when alarm is set? Seems most cars do this except the dodge trucks.

I hear you on that, how come dodge is so behind on their features? Like Ive always wanted an OEM locking tailgate like my 2000 F-150 had. Among other things.

Well I Tried doing this procedure and it didn't work. Then I looked in the Owners manual it said that the chirp could be activated, or deactivated by the dealer. I wonder if you could do it with a scan tool?

This is what works for my 01' :

Automatic Door Locks at 15mph (on/off)
1. close all doors
2. place key in ignition and cycle from off to on postition 4 times leaving it in the ON postition (do not start)
3. Press the drivers side door lock to LOCK to lock the doors within 30 seconds.
4.You'll hear a single confirmation chime when programming is complete.
5. repeat to toggle this feature.

Remote Keyless unlock all doors on first press:
1. Same as 1 & 2 above.
2. Press drivers door lock switch to UNLOCK the doors then to LOCK within 30 seconds.
3. You'll hear a single confirmation chime when programming is completed.

Horn Chirp ON/OFF:
1. Same as 1 & 2 above.
2. Press and hold the UNLOCK button on the REMOTE for 4-10 seconds.
3. Press the LCK button on the REMOTE and then release BOTH button.
4. You'll hear a single confirmation chime whe programming is complete.

Leave it the way it is. The chirp is annoying to everyone but the owner.

I use mine to lock the doors.
But I'm within a couple of feet of the truck when I do.
I can hear the doors lock.
I prefer not to let everyone in the parking lot know that I'm walking away from my vehicle.

On our '0s when the truck is locked, a little red led flashes on the rear view miror for 10 seconds. Also is set to beep if the remote is used. Alarm still sets if locked manualy
