High Idle TSB

So I am getting ready too take my truck in have this feature enabled so I don't have too keep it plugged in all winter. Is there any thing I need besides taking the tsb which I am printing out as week speak?

i just wonder, what does the high idle have to do with plugging it in???
if the temp is -10 plugging it in will help starting, but won't go to high idle

What does this TSB do for your year of truck?

Using the cruise control can only be done on '04.5 and up trucks I believe.

Yes, I knew about the automatic one, but it was appearing to me there was something new from DC that was driver controllable. Sorry. Maybe high hopes were getting the best of me.

I personally would be interested in the "aftermarket idle speed kicker" they mention in the TSB............meaning user controlled.

Some may have noticed that yes, I do have an '07 and my cruise control option is enabled. However, I'm trying to keep my eyes open for an option for a couple buddies with 2nd gens.

Sos I got this done and got my truck back from the dealer and I have a question. When they enable the high idle does the 3cyl deal turn on with the high idle or is it separate?

the 3 cyl thing comes with ihe high idle, but it has to be really cold for it to activate... it will high idle first then if it's cold enough the 3 cyl will kick in.......the first time mine went to 3 cyl mode i shut it off.
it sort of scared me ..... the temp was around 30 below zero. after checking every thing i restarted it and let it warm up[laugh]

HA ya if I ever sell this pickup I should warn the next owners [laugh] more than likely this truck will die on the farm after its not my dd it will be a trap wagon for feeding and fence building. I am looking at trying too find a 06-07 5.9 6spd 3500 srw too replace this one as they are bone stock have the same power I have with a little help and less miles.

Tell them to go to the dealer and get the options enabled in the ECM, 99 - up can be enabled to manually high idle with the cruise control, auto high idle , and three cylinder idle.

Really? I didn't think my 2000 could have the manual part, just 3cyl high idle. That's even better!

Do you have something I could take to the dealer to tell them how to do this because the dealers around here will just scratch their heads if I tell them that.

i would like to have control of my high idle but i don't think it can be done with the CC on a '99 to '04....."Using the cruise control can only be done on '04.5 and up trucks I believe".

Ok so whats the skinny its looking like it will be in the 20s in the morning and I have had the high idle enabled for a week and this will be the first morning I get too use it. Does the e brake need too be off or on with the trans in neutral?
