Help ID this mystery part left over after repair

I just did some body work on my 1997 Ram 2500. Replaced front passenger fender and rocker panel. I removed the fender and the door. After replacing the door, I rolled the jack out from under the door, and found this part laying on the ground. It looks like a torsion spring, and looks maybe like part of the door latch/handle?
I definitely did not remove this part, and I dont know how it would even fall out of the door as the door remained vertical during the entire repair
l also thought it might be part of the jack (scissor type transmission jack), but cant find anywhere for it to go on the jack.

Does it look familiar? where did it come from?

Glad you found what it was from--I always love it when I take something apart and have parts left over when I put it back together!

Great work on the body panels! I love doing my own wrenching but I would cringe at the thought of doing my own bodywork.
