Thanks everyone for all the replies. I got the truck into a garage, but the only store that sells Diesel 911 in my town is out for a few days. Should the diesel go back to a normal state when warmed up over night or will i have to wait for the 911 to get in?

Bbabic1 - All you have to do right now is visit your closest Truck stop. There are other brands that work also and you are bound to find various types of Power Service additives there.

There has got to be a truck stop near you or a diesel repair facility.

Good Luck !

i did find some diesel additive but nothing that helps with already gelled fuel. There is only 2000 people in my town so not to many truck shops around. I did put some of the additive in my tank, should i put some in the filter housing also? The bottle didn't have directions on it so i just assumed to put it in the tank only.,.

Yes, put some in the stock filter housing and make sure you plug in the block heater tonight.

Once you get it started let it run. It will run rough for a while. Remember, the stock fuel filter has a heater in it so once the fuel gets to the filter, you will have help.

If the garage that is storing your truck tonight has heat, this will help you tremendously.

Keep us posted.

aim a halogen shop lite at the pump side of the motor, close hood, put blanket over hood, add some type of anigel to the tank. wait a couple hours.

Sorry if this is too cheap a fix but first change fuel filters & refill the filter with atf then put about 1-2 gal RUG in the tank this will cut the wax in a short while & do it waaaaaaaay cheaper. The amount of RUG will vary depending on how full the tank is, just dont get carried away.
You can also use a folding hibatchi, lite, fold & slide it under the tank by the time it burns out the fuel should be fine again.

ATF is the last thing you want in your engine. That is a diesel mechanic's (wives) tale from the 60s.

Been putting it in my semi's for 30 years & its burns fine just make sure that its petrol based in fact if you wished you could feed it on 100% used ATF if you filtered it done to 2 microns or so. And yes I do run it in mine as fuel even going as far as 85-140 gear oil blended with WMO.

That's the problem with modern ATF, most of it is now 80% additives, most of which don't burn.
Result is ATF may leave damaging ash deposits in your engine.
Sure you can add it to your fuel and probably won't notice the damage till 100,000 miles down the road.

ATF has an ignition point of over 400*F, #2 is about 150* F. Modern ATF is designed not to burn... there is no way I would ever run ATF in my truck..

My experience has been that it does work so I'll continue to use it in my rig & thanks for leaving it so I can have some CHEAP fuel.
Thanks again.

BTW aren't we drifting away from the topic ?

A second point muzzleloaders have been moving away from blackpowder to pyrodex which takes in a lab nearly twice the heat to set it off, so maybe lab tests don't allways apply no ?

BBabic1 - Glad to know you've got your rig running. I can't imagine having my rig's fuel gel up in Alaska with the cold weather and low temps I've seen posted.
