front end squeak
front end squeak
is driving me absolutely nuts
I does it, worse anyhow, when turning. The squeak is directly proportional to wheel speed. Next clue.......I'm up under it looking for the squeak. My son has it jacked up and turning the wheel and tire(all this is happening on the driver's side btw) I hear the squeak and try to get closer to it to decide if it is the brakes, u joint, or what. Then I see oil on the bottom fork of the yoke thingy
whatever its called. My Haynes doesnt mention it, or I havent looked in the right place yet. So, I guess I have a seal out. Could the seal be making this squeak? u joints? I checked them, they seemed good and tight. How do you get to the seal, to replace it. Thanks for your support ;D

Re:front end squeak
Well, I'll answer this myself, then.........
U joint was trying to freeze up, very stiff. Oil seal is out, but that will have to wait til another day. For driver's side seal replacement, you have to pull pass. side axle, intermediate axle, actuator, carrier yadda yadda yadda
