What is the average life expectancy of a D 70 rearend in a stock truck, when maintained and not hotrodded?

i dunno about a D70 but i have seen D60's go 250k

Mine only lasted 125000. I blew it up pulling another truck out of a pond. Had to completely rebuild it. Total cost 1241.00. That was with a friend doing the work, & parts from Randy's. I think something was wrong from thr factory though. I bought the truck with 11 miles on it, and 9 of those were from my test drive. The truck always had a noise in the rearend. I even took it back to them, but they assured me that "it's normal". I didn't buy it then and still don't since the rebuild no noise! Hmmmmmmm. Hope this helps!

There isn't much reason why a properly set up and maintained D70 shouldn't last the life of the vehicle.....assuming it isn't abused.
