Cruise out, how to check the servo on a 95

I tried doing a serch but didnt find anything so here goes. The cruise doesnt work on my 95 and I am trying to get it to. I am going to pull the battery tray out to get to the servo but was wondering how do you check it? If you suck on the vacuum hose it acts like a straw so I am thinking that the diaphram or a check valve is bad. So far I have power to the switch on the wheel(verified by a dvm), my my ABS light isnt on so the clock spring should be good, and my AC works and switchs quickly for the vent to defrost so I am pretty much ruling out the vacuum hose leak. IF i missed anything let me know.

You shouldn't be able to suck on the servo without restriction, the servo is shot most likely from battery acid.
