complete ac replacement. 112 here....

It is hot in Oklahoma so I replacing almost the entire ac system. I have a new compressor, condensor, accumulator, new liquid line with orifice, and pag oil. I replaced the evaporator last year when I did the heater core. Does anyone have any advice on this?

Be sure to replace the o-rings/seals that go between the compressor and the block that bolts the lines to it. They are 15$ each around here, or you can get both in an Autozone "compressor re-seal kit" for 8 bucks and throw away all but the two rubber coated washers. They look like large versions of the seals on the banjo bolts on the pump.

patdaly. I have no pressure. I refilled it about a month ago. went out of town for two weeks and when I got back I had nothing. I probably could have narrowed it down more, but it hasn't been really performing like it should for a couple years so I figure a complete overhaul will do the trick.
jstone Thanks I will pick up those washer just to be safe.

Ok, then you need to recharge it and hit it with a Dye charge, then when she leaks you should be able to see where it is leaking with a black light. You might get lucky and notice an oily smear where it is leaking as well.

FWIW, I had a heck of a time with new lines from NAPA leaking, not sure if I just got a bad batch or what but the "gator spring" clip on the condensor-high line connection kept popping off. Not very fun when I was standing 2 feet away from it letting go at 170psi. It blew twice while charging (taking it apart to try and align it perfectly each time) then I had to rig a fool proof lock for it. Now it's good, but basically all the lines had to be tweaked pretty good to fit right.

Just get good quality parts I guess is my advice.

I guess you have a leak somewhere. You need to get some dye in there and find where the leak is at.

I had a leak someplace. I dont really know where it was. But now everything is new except for the the lines. It held a vacuum for 8 hours and has been blowing about 40 degree air in the 100+ heat.
so far so good.
