I been wanting to get a/c installed in my truck ever since I bought it last summer. Called a few salvage yards today and was quoted $450 dollars for everything: pump, condensor, hoses, controls, and the box on the firewall, These would be factory parts out of a salvage yard. I wanted to get some opinions on what else i might need and if i am crazy for wanting to do this. Remember that this truck has never had a/c in it so I need everything that would come in the kit to install a/c that I couldn't get because it has been discontinued. all the wiring looks to be there tied to the main wiring harness under the hood so I hope that it would be just a bolt in job. What do you all think.

 

Never done that on a Dodge, but I have done it with Chebbys.<br>And it is a bolt in job.<br>One piece of advise.-- if you know your junk yard, man make sure you get it all.<br>If you need something that gets forgot you can come back and get it for the same money.<br>Make sure up front that it's a complete package for one price.<br>Good Luck and enjoy the project it's not that bad.<br><br><br> : Eddie : 8)

 

Its a big job...Again be sure to get everything including the dash controls and cables...after its all installed be sure and vac the system to be sure you have no leaks if it holds a vacuum for 1 hour then charge the system...I wouldnt buy a system that has been sitting open it may have corrosion which will plug the system...good luck
