Burning smell was the Headlight switch
Burning smell was the Headlight switch
Just an FYI
I have had this burning plastic smell that I could not locate for a while. It turned out to be my headlight switch and connector was melting (I have stock wattage headlights). Apparently this is a fairly common problem and Dodge has updated the switch assembly P/N 4886449AB and it comes complete with a new connector with heaver contacts. I took some pictures while I was installing the new one FWIW.

Great pix, Glenn. Glad you got your problem solved. The shrink tubing with the goop inside works great for exterior splices. See you at Hooter's in 2 weeks?
