My truck jerks to the left every time I begin to brake. To me it means right side is not braking as much as the left.

I replaced trackbar, new calipers, and pads.

I noticed the passenger side was hard to bleed. I had to really press the pedal hard, even if bleeder valve was fully opened.

Is it possible the 4 way brake splitter can be defective or damaged ? Anybody had this before ?

 

Dodge rear drum brakes are notorious for not self adjusting.
If they aren't adjusted equally the truck will feel like it's pulling from the front.
Manually adjust the rears at least every 5000 miles.

 

I will do that but still does not solve the issue of right side being hard to bleed.

I think the metering valve/block (if that's what's called) doesn't let equal pressure flow, can this be possible ?

 

The flexable brake caliper hose may be bad causing the restriction which would account for the delayed braking on that right side along with needing more pedal pressure to bleed that right side.


I know you said the calipers were new but ----
Another cause of pulling to left can come from a dragging right side caliper because it gets hot and has less braking power compared to the opposite side . This one is usually real easy to spot lots of brake dust on that wheel the wheel/tire get hot and sometimes if it is stuck good smoke from that side.

 

I will replace the right side hose and see what happens, it's not very expensive. Calipers are new, as NEW bought 2 days ago and just installed, they have no problem functioning.

 

When I was working at a Landrover Dealership I quickly learned that new did not mean working. Not saying your parts are bad but is does happen.

 

Ok, as I suspected the fault was the rubber hose line. For some reason it was restricting flow and make the caliper respond slowly compared to driver's side. Replace with a new $ 21 hose and my brakes are like new at the factory.
