Brakes Lock up

I have a 98 12 4x4 when I barely tap on the pedal the rears lock up. I have replaced the pads, wheel cils, springs, and the passenger side drum. Anyone have an idea. It feels like the abs is not working but the light is not on.

So a little more info but I still am lost. With the slightest touch to the pedal the rears lock up. I replaced rear shoes, wheel cils, a right rear drum. Still does it. I noticed under the hood there is a connector that is not attached to a plug near the abs stuff. But I can not find a where it goes. It looks like it has been unpluged for ever. But I have no idea. I was reading in another post that if there is a problem with the rear adjusters it can ruin the master cyl in my case the rear was toast. I had to torch out the adjuster and cut into the drum to free it. But this post was about an 96 12v 2500 I have a 98 12v 4x4 3500.

Can anyone point me in the right direction. I would like to beable to drive my new truck.

I don't know if the 1998 models had it, but there is a proportioning valve that is above the rear axle that will have a rod connected to the axle. If yours has this check to see if the rod is connected. Also when you took off the drums was there any evidence of an oil leak? This can also cause the rear brakes to lock up. Usually it because the rear axle is over full. It should be 0.75" + or - 0.25" BELOW the fill hole.

I had the same problem with my truck. I finally fixed it by replacing the proportioning valve. It is not on top of the axle but right next to the master cylinder. Your truck may be different since my is a 96. I could breath on the brake pedal and the rears would lock up. No problems since replacing this part.
