brake calipers

I need to do the front brakes, is it best to rebuild the front calipers or to replace. I have a caliper that is hanging up off and on. Took it off quickly and did what I could without taking it apart. still happens off and on. Just wondering pro's and cons re: rebuild vrs replace.
thanks

In my thought the best thing to do with the front brakes on our trucks is to put them in the garbage. But having said that it is not financially in most cases plausible.
So in my thought again when it comes time to do the bearings and brakes I will be looking at either a Ford high pinion axle or a Ford locking hub to replace the dung parts that are in there.

hi
also the brake hose sometimes seperates / swells internaly and does not allow fluid to return to mastercylinder when brake pedal is released !
if hose is a few years old change it .!

lube the rubber mounting bushings with sylicone grease also .

bleed brakes once a year to flush out calipers some .

rebuilding calipers is not hard but it is so cheep here to get rebuilt ones i just exchange mine ?

I agree w/ Clayten and oldblues. I have had several stuck calibers and 2 brake lines come apart both on right front.

Biggest help was changing to synthetic brake fluid and adding the larger gm wheel cylinders in the back.
