I don't know if I missed your previous posts or just read so many,,,,,,, they all started running together!
I guess there are still some UNKNOWN answers to these problems for us back-yard mechanics. I guess I could have lost the gamble and still may have depending on wether mine will stay fixed or not. I did read a couple of posts somewhere (either here or the TDR) that mentioned having to replace the CAB in some cases.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for yours to stay fixed if you will do the same for me.
These posts make me ask the question.....How many of us have tested the ABS on a gravel downhill section or on snowy conditions? I live on a Colorado mountain road, and I swear that if I had not disconnected the ABS on my truck by now, I would have had several wrecks by now. I ended up pulling the 40 amp fuse for the ABS pump. Now I have to do something about the brake and ABS lights, but I concider that a minor problem compared to not being in control of my truck. My honest estimate is that with the ABS it IN CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES it would take 2 to 3 times the distance to stop.
Have been waiting to see similar statements, but have not at this time.
Comments?
Thanks

Dennis, I replaced my sensor today using your part number. Asked the parts guy to check and make sure it would work on my truck, he ran the VIN number to make sure, said it would work and does. Only thing is, I have a 4x4.
Anyway...
All's well, no more idiot lights.
64,000 mile when it went.

I had to run go off road a few days ago to avoid a collison with another motorists on a VERY icy road and had to use 4wd to get out of the ditch. While in 4wd my abs and brake lights came on and stayed on till I took the truck out of 4wd and shut it down. When I fired it back up the lights where gone and haven't had any trouble since. Anyone got any suggestions on what this might be? Thanks guys.
Thanks. I did spin the tires some trying to get the truck back on the road. Is this a problem I need to look at repairing or just a minor glich that doesn't need to be worried with? Thanks again for the help, I'm new to the diesel world as well as to this site.

I started my truck this morning and the brake and ABS light stayed on. I started driving and noticed that my speedometer doesn't work until about 20 mph. When I go to stop it reads till about 25 mph then just drops to 0. I pulled the codes from the computer and got 2. First was 71- ECU RAM Read/Write Error.
Second was 72- ECU ROM Checksum Error. Does anyone know what these codes mean or what the problem might be! My guess would be the speed sensor but want to make sure.
