Best type of jack to use to work on front suspension of 2500
Hi,
I was planning on installing a KORE leveling kit soon & I was wondering what is the best type of jack to use on a 2500 to make the job easier when working on the front suspension.
Am I correct in assuming that it is much easier to install the system with both front wheels off of the ground at once?
Thanks for any suggestions.
Mike

Having 2 floor jacks and 2 jack stands will make the job pretty easy. You gotta support the front of the truck with the jack stands by the frame kinda under the front of the front doors. Get the front of the truck up as high as you can. You'll need the room when lowering the diff to get the springs in. Use the 2 floor jacks one at each end of the diff. Unhook the track bar, shocks, brake hoses, etc. That'll allow the diff to be swung down far enough to deal with the springs.

Have two of them I've been using for over ten years without problem.
Inflation, I paid about $100 back them.
Long reach is excellent, you can jack either differential without the handle being under the truck.

. It creaks and groans a little bit now, definitely need to pick something up that is a bit heavier duty haha.
2.5 ton has always been enough for me even on the heavier 4wd fronts.
2.5t = 5000 lbs, most Rams weigh 6-7,000lbs, hope it's not all on the front.
My 2.5 ton will also pick up one entire side.

Yeah, 2.5T floor jack should be fine. Like infidel said, you're not picking up all the weight of the truck. We got 20T air jacks at work and the younger new guys always freak out about jacking up a loaded trailer do change a tire..."but he says he's loaded with 44,000!?!"
We use floor jacks, beleive it or not, to jack up the entire rear of semi trucks under the diff. once in a while

I got this 20TON! air bottle jack from NorthernTool on sale for $69 recently. Lifts the front of my truck like it's not even there. It's the best thing since sliced bread. Works with only about 70-80psi, too.
