ball joint replacement tip

I noticed that we are seeing more ball joint questions lately with no mention of the quad4x4 kits or tools. this kit comes with the parts and some handy tools that make the job soooooo much easier. there is even a video that step by steps the process for you. if you are in the market for ball joints this is the way to go.

Lucky for you. 4x4 02 here the balljoints are in the knuckle not spindle. cant rightly take the axle in to the shop and say press them out for me but i will say use the proper press, its longer then the normal one and for a reason. But if your in a bind like i was and didnt want to wait for a new press to come in. If you have the small one, (you do need the right reciever which you can get from quad4x4), but you find you do not have the room required to get a good press on the top of the bottom one, a few washers and one large jam nut (about the size of the nut on the pitman arm, just have a few of those running around the garage) work great to give you about 1/2 to 3/4 inch of press sorry if it doesnt make sense, i should have taken pictures.

Quad4x4 has a lot of great stuff. I just don't have the green stuff to do it (I paid $220 for 4 greasable MOOG joints and used the free kit, Quad4x4 has a great kit with greasable joints for $700 with all the neat tools). That's why most of us put up with the junky tools from AutoZone or the like. My extra money goes solely to beer....
