Alignment Problem

I ran my truck off the road the other day and went over a culvert. I was only going about 20 mph but the truck bounced a few times when I went over the culvert. I believe the front axle cleared the culvert. Nothing appears to be bent. Now my steering wheel is a half a turn off. Also if I measure from the front tire to the lower portion of the fender there is a 1-1/2” difference between each side. The truck drives straight. Any ideas on what I messed up and is there an adjustment on the front axle to make it perpendicular to the truck frame.

Take it to a frame specialist and you will get the bad news. A steering wheel 1/2 turn off and wheel spacing difference of 1 1/2 inches indicates serious damage. For another test. See if vehicle will turn sharper in one direction. How much is your deductible????

Ouch!! That's not what I wanted to hear. I tried to make an apointment with A frame specialist hear in Bay City TX. They wont touch it because of the 35" tires. They refered me to Strouhal Tire in Hungerford TX. They due alignments on larger trucks. Maybe they can at least tell me what is messed up. Iwas told that it sounds like I roled the front axle back on the drivers side. I was also told that there was an adjustment to role the axle forward again. I am going to try and make an apointment with Strouhal's. I just hate to drive and hour and pay someone $100 bucks for them to tell me that there is no adjustment for the axle and something else is bent etc..

The only adjustment to roll axle forward would be the caster excentrics. This adjustment is limited to equal adjust on both sides. Maybe you could take the oversize tires off to satsify first shop. Your problem is frame related, not tire.

I took the truck to the shop and they said that they did not find anything wrong other than the alignment was off. I got lucky.
