No jacks needed, and no nothing will happen when you remove it.

Just replaced the stock trackbar with a 3rd gen. Didn't have to jack up the truck to remove or install either.

Ok Hi-jack time , just put on a replacement Moog track bar , got it for free talked them in to it even though I bought the truck used and had no receipt for the old one . Life time should be lifetime right. Anyways when I put the new one on tried by myself , no way need someone in the truck to turn and hold the wheel just in the right spot for ya , if ya don't you'll go nuts going under the truck to the steering wheel 50 times trying to lock the wheel in the right spot . Now to my question , I tightend down the frame casle nut pretty good and the cotter pin hole is above the nut grooves , I,m sure the old one wasn't . Is there a washer that went under the nut , it kind of looks like there is an outline of one being there . Took the old one off in the dark and can't see any washer on the ground. Help please

I think it needs a washer regardless if the cotter pin is above it without any support from underneath, the nut will loosen to the pin.
