3rd gen box on a 2nd gen

Anyone done it? seen one ? will any of the body lines work?
I personally prefer the 2nd gen. but im looking to replace the whole box, mine has taken a beating, wheel wells smalshed in, tailgate and bulkhead both bent up from a engine block sliding around.

I just cant seem to find a clean 3500 2nd gen bed, theres a whole mess of 3rd gen on ebay, just dont wanna buy one and have it look rediculous.

Not that I can give you any info on your question, but I'd like to reccomend that when carrying an engine you can set it in an old tire to help keep it from sliding.

I don't know how that would look... I'd be interested to see a pic because now I'm curious.
